Dear 2010 H1 Cohort,
welcome to the Innova JC (Singapore) History Blog.
By now you would have completed your Role Playing Game Assignment. Hope you had fun! Here are some questions that you should consider for discussion come Jan 2011.
1. Why did you make certain choices?
2. Did you disagree with the options or their explanations? Are there alternatives?
Write down your thoughts by leaving comments (around 100 words) on this post thread. You should leave your name and class. Everyone should leave at least one comment.
All the best!

ReplyDeleteThrough this role playing game assigment, i learnt that every choice we made gives us different outcomes and consquences. For the first options i choose to check out details from the various ministry departments such as finance and health etc before calling a meeting to discuss the matter. this is because by doing this we can either improvise on those methods to make it better or on the other hand avoid these methods since they prove to be not useful. we can also discuss this during the meeting where new ideas can be contributed to be put into use. i choose to talk to carla first as he would tell whether the cost or benefit is more important. this is vital in making choices.
I made certain choices as it seemed reasonable to me that countries needing help financially like Malaysia in this case would take such decisions that ensured peace among the countries involved and solve the economic problems within Malaysia. I did agree with most of the options but some situations could have been handled differently. Such as, Malaysia could choose to not sell rubber to Soviets and Eastern Europe which had made USA doubt Malaysia's intention of staying anti-communist. Malaysia should have tried much harder to perhaps selling rubber used in machineries and warfare to countries rebuilding their army during the 1960s. The role playing game allowed me to understand why certain decisions were taken by Malaysia to curb the financial situation.
